Almond Butter Pancakes With Dark Chocolate

When starting my Paleo diet I was afraid I would never get to eat my favorite treat ever again, pancakes. However after complaining about this to a friend of mine I received a link to the recipe below and I have been making them ever since. Even if you’re not on a Paleo diet you should try these because they will make your tastebuds tingle!

Almond Butter Pancakes With Dark Chocolate Recipe

  • Prep: 10 mins 
  • Cook: 15 mins 
  • Ready In: 25 mins 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond butter choose an almond butter with no sugar 
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce 
  • 1/8 cup milled flax seed 
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips 
  • 1/2 heaping tsp cinnamon 
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla 
  • coconut oil 

Instructions

  1. Heat skillet on medium high heat 
  2. Mix together all ingredients except chocolate chips to form a batter 
  3. Once batter is formed, fold in chocolate chips 
  4. Put coconut oil in skillet 
  5. Scoop about 1/4 cup of batter into skillet 
  6. Cook a couple of minutes on each side being careful not to burn the cakes 
  7. Top with real maple syrup, melted butter, or warm fruit compote 
  8. Eat!
